How many more donors does Scotland need?

Every day, Scotland needs around 450 blood donors to meet the needs of patients in hospitals across the country. However, fewer people are donating than before, and that puts pressure on Scotland’s blood supply.

Staff at Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service laboratories in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee have started offering young patients the chance to be trainee scientists for the day.

Thank you to Rt Hon Sadie Docherty, Lord Provost of the City of Glasgow who hosted an event at Glasgow City Chambers promoting the give blood campaign.

The Edinburgh University Trading and Investment Club (EUTIC) forwent roses and chocolates this year and instead decided to give blood for Valentine's Day.
