This Blood Donor Week, staff member Gemma wants to share a special message with you all.

As any new parent knows, there aren’t enough hours in the day. But for one Midlothian family, finding a spare hour was a top priority.

Every year, on 14 June, countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day (WBDD).

Blood donor week is a celebration of blood donors in Scotland: it’s our chance to thank people who save lives.

You may find these leaflets helpful if you have been involved in or affected by a traumatic incident.

England and Scotland's blood stocks are at safe levels. If you have an appointment to give blood in the next few days, please do your best to keep it, particularly if you are blood group O negative.

Important information for donors who live in these areas.
