How many more donors does Scotland need?

Every day, Scotland needs around 450 blood donors to meet the needs of patients in hospitals across the country. However, fewer people are donating than before, and that puts pressure on Scotland’s blood supply.

Why do we need more plasma donors?

Christmas is nearly upon us, and we’re all looking for gifts that are a little out of the ordinary. However, did you know that as a regular blood donor, the gift you give can be used in some unexpected ways?

Caoimhe received her first life-saving transfusion within the first few hours of her life. This December, partner Mike made his first donation to help people just like her.

We are pleased to announce a pilot amongst whole blood donors at our Edinburgh Donor Centre.

Hannah, 20, Glasgow, has received six blood transfusions in the last year, after becoming unwell last Christmas time.
