Blood Donor Week 2017

Share

Blood donor week is a celebration of blood donors in Scotland: it’s our chance to thank people who save lives.

Blood donor week is a celebration of blood donors in Scotland: it’s our chance to thank people who save lives.

Throughout blood donor week, we want to:

  • thank blood donors for their life-saving gift of blood
  • raise awareness of the need for regular, unpaid blood donation
  • inspire people who have never given blood to start doing so (particularly young people in good health), and
  • promote and highlight the need to share life by giving blood

This year, Blood Donor Week falls from 12-18 June, and includes World Blood Donor Day on Wednesday 14th June. We’ll be posting pics on social media from sessions across the country, giving out keyrings to our blood donors, and asking you to help ‘fill our blood bags’ – in more ways than one.

However, most importantly, we’ll be carrying on business as usual – welcoming all blood donors (especially new ones), and distributing blood across the country.

Thank you for making this all possible.
