Road closure at Aberdeen Donor Centre.

Share

Major building works mean alternative routes will be needed accessing Aberdeen Donor Centre.

As part of The Baird Family Hospital site preparations, a section of Foresterhill Road at the Westburn Road junction in Aberdeen will close completely to traffic from the end of March 2019.

There are significant road works taking place at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary due to the new site preparations for The Baird Family Hospital and new ANCHOR Centre being built.

The proposed start date for the initial road works is Monday 11 March. This will continue and the amount of work being carried out will increase after Monday 25 March for a period of 8 to 12 weeks.

During this time, all vehicles accessing the Foresterhill Health Campus will need to use alternative entrances, mainly entering Foresterhill Road via Ashgrove Road West.

What does this mean for donors?

  • Aberdeen Blood Donor Centre will remain open during this period
  • Donors will not be able to access the donor centre via Westburn Road
  • Donors are encouraged to access the Foresterhill Road by entering via Ashgrove Road West
  • Donors are still welcome to use the Aberdeen Blood Donor Centre car park. This can be done by entering Foresterhill Road from the Ashgrove Road West entrance and using the loop road down to the donor centre
  • Donors are also able to park in the multi-story car park opposite Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and walk down to the centre
