Position statement: Leith dockyard

Share

We would like to thank all donors and the public for their support regarding the Petrel capsize at Leith Docks.

At this time:

  • Hospitals in Scotland are well supplied with blood and there is no immediate need for blood donors to come forward.
  • However, if you have already booked an appointment to give blood, please make an extra special effort to attend.
  • If you have not given blood recently, we are particularly keen for O- and A- donors to make an appointment to give blood in the next week.
  • If you have never given before or would like to find out where to give blood, search for local sessions on our homepage
  • You can book an appointment online at any time. Alternatively, call 0345 90 90 999 (Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm).
  • If the situation changes, our requirements may also change. We will publish any information on the blood groups we need immediately on our website; our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages; and through the media. We may also get in contact directly.
  • To register as a blood donor, call 0345 90 90 999 (Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm). You can also sign up online.

Thank you once again for your support.
