Online donor accounts for all five donor centres

Share

All five blood donor centres in Scotland can now give donors access to the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service’s new online accounts system.

Available to both regular blood donors and those wanting to give blood for the first time, the online donor accounts make it easy for donors to

  • book, view and cancel appointments
  • change their contact details, and
  • review their donation history

How do I open an account?

  • The sign up/sign in process is simple and can be started directly from this news story.
  • Donors can also sign up/sign in by searching for your donor centre on scotblood.co.uk, then clicking the 'Sign up/Sign in to your online account' link on the blue announcement banner.
Look for the blue announcement when you search for your donor centre.

Filling out the registration form will automatically generate a return email containing a link, which must be clicked to complete the sign-up process.

The online donor account consists of three main areas: my appointments; my details; and my history.

My appointments

  • Tells you when what date you are eligible to make an appointment from
  • Reminds you of your blood type
  • Searches sessions that suit you according to date or location
  • Enables you to make, view and cancel appointments

My details

  • Confirms your personal details including Donor ID number
  • Allows you to update your contact details
  • Gives you a snapshot of your donation history

My history

  • Gives you access to search your donation history over the past three years, stating venue, date and whether the donation was successful

Community sessions

The project will later extend across the country, with community blood donation sessions added on a rolling basis over the next twelve months.

  • If you give blood at one of our five regional blood donor centres, you can register for your online donor account today.
If you’re a donor who has already used the new online account system, you can give us feedback by emailing nss.betafeedback@nhs.net
