North of Scotland: Book an appointment to give blood

Share

From 1st of March 2016, blood donors in the North of Scotland can book an appointment to give blood. This change has been introduced to benefit patients across Scotland.

Having an appointment helps you prevent any unnecessary waiting around by letting you choose a time that suits you to give blood. The added benefit is that booking an appointment helps us work out how many units of each blood type we can expect that day. This is a fantastic indicator of how our bloodstocks will look, and means we can plan collection and distribution even better.

You will still be able to drop in on our blood donor sessions, but will be told when the next available appointment time is.

To find out where and when your next donation opportunity is, simply enter your full postcode into the 'Find out where to give blood' searchbox. This will bring up a list of the nearest sessions in your area.

You can book in to give blood at any of our community sessions in the North of Scotland by calling 0345 90 90 999 or emailing nss.snbtsenquiry@nhs.scot

We aim to retain 6 days of stocks at any time in order to meet the requirements of patients in Scotland.
