Gordon sweet talks Aberdeen donor staff

Share

Long standing donor Gordon Nobes has made over 100 donations. He celebrated by bringing in some sweet treats to Aberdeen Donor Centre, made by the niece who inspired him to start giving blood 20 years ago.

Gordon, from Turriff, celebrated with the donor team by bringing in a selection of sweets made by Chloe, who runs 'Chloe's Kitchen Creations'.

Sweet treats for the Aberdeen team.

'Chloe was born prematurely, which is the reason I started to give blood all those years ago.

I'd say to everyone, just try it, even if it's just the once. Find the time because you never know when you or someone you know might need it. Gordon Nobes

'Over the years I've donated at lots of different locations in the community. As soon as the three month period was up, I just booked myself in again to give blood. I'd made 51 whole blood donations before I moved over to give platelet donations in 2016.

'It's not a chore and I wish I'd started it much sooner. You always think that you'll get round to it and you never do, unless something happens. I'd say to everyone, just try it, even if it's just the once. Find the time because you never know when you or someone you know might need it.'
