Good luck from all of us

Share

As the school talk programme 2018/2019 draws to a close, we wanted to say a huge thank you to all schools that allowed us timetable space for talk on blood donation, and good luck to all students for their forthcoming exams.

Over the last year, 188 schools from all over Scotland allowed us to blether to students about giving their first blood donation. As a result, over 2,300 young people came to a blood donor session for the first time.

One such example was Hyndland Secondary School in Glasgow. After receiving a talk from the recruitment team in December, the school organised two trips to Glasgow Donor Centre. In total, 40 students attended to give blood over the two dates - a fantastic achievement for both the individuals and the school.

Gillian Morrison, Donor Recruitment Officer in Edinburgh, said 'We are very grateful to all schools who make the effort to squeeze us in, as we appreciate that scheduling anything additional into a senior student’s timetable can be really tricky.

'We wish all students the best of luck in their exams and we hope to welcome you all to give blood again in the near future.'
