Donations and congratulations

Share

Not many wedding photos feature a blood donation van – but for Laura and David Kettles, it’s a little nod to a big part of their story.

Married in Dundee Registry Office,  the happy couple met six years ago at the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service, Ninewells Hospital, where they both worked as biomedical scientists. As you can imagine, both know only too well the importance of giving blood. David recently gave his tenth donation. Laura says, 'Unfortunately I'm unable to give blood, but David does his part, and I work on the other side and issue blood to patients instead'.

David and Laura tied the knot after first meeting at their work as Biomedical Scientists for the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service.

'As lockdown eases, we need your blood more than ever. If you have an appointment to give blood, it's important that you keep it. If you do need to cancel, please let us know as soon as you can, so we can find someone to fill the appointment. You can book and cancel appointments online at scotblood.co.uk or by calling 0345 90 90 999.'
