Bloodstocks: Weather update

Share

This December, we plan to welcome 3,700 donors every week to meet hospital demand over the festive period.

The recent bad weather meant we had to cancel a session this week (Beauly), and there were changes to Kingussie, Livingston and Bellshill. We are grateful to donors who were impacted by this.

To compensate for this, we have opened up additional appointments in Aberdeen Donor Centre today and on Monday.

We are asking blood and platelet donors to make an extra special effort to donate at this time if it is safe for you to do so. We’d particularly like to welcome Group A donors at this time.

Bloodstocks are currently at healthy levels – but as blood has a limited shelf life, we are asking donors to continue to come forward.

Please follow us for updates – and be assured if your appointment is impacted by the bad weather, we will contact you directly.

Thank you and stay safe!
