Our aim is to provide the highest level of donor care in a friendly, professional manner for the benefit of all patients in NHS Scotland.  To do this, we have seven donor care standards, establishing the service all members of the public should expect when interacting with Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service staff.

  1. We will be friendly and approachable
  2. We will introduce ourselves to you and let you know our name
  3. We will treat you as an individual and with courtesy and respect
  4. We will maintain your confidentiality at all times
  5. We will be clear and accurate with our information and update you if there are any delays during your appointment
  6. We will ensure the area in which you are giving blood, plasma or platelets is kept clean and tidy and maintain the highest standard of infection prevention and control.
  7. We will listen to your feedback and act on your concerns if you have any

We aim to retain 6 days of stocks at any time in order to meet the requirements of patients in Scotland.
