Update on Italy

Share

Last year we asked travellers to Rome (and the surrounding area of Lazio) not to give blood for a few weeks after they got back. We’re pleased to say the outbreak of Chikungunya Virus which prompted this safety measure has now ended.

So, don’t worry if you’re just back from Rome – come along and give blood as usual. As always, we’ll still need to find out about all your recent travel (so we know which tests to run on your blood), but your ‘Roman Holiday’ will no longer automatically rule you out for donation.

  • Find out where you can give blood by looking up our session searcher, or calling 0345 90 90 999.
