Giving blood? Check your venue!

Blood donors in Scotland are being asked to double check their session venue before coming to give blood, as a number of usual locations are currently being used for Covid-19 vaccinations.

Venues currently switched include (but are not limited to):

'Like everyone in Scotland, we are delighted that the vaccination programme is in full swing, and has already reached so many people.

'However, if you’ve been coming to the same venue for years to give blood, it’s understandable that you might just assume your session will be in the same place as usual.

'Luckily it’s really easy to make sure - just make a point of checking your invitation to donate, or have a quick look online at scotblood.co.uk before you leave the house.

'The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service would like to extend our continuing gratitude to blood donors for their ongoing support. Their understanding and patience has helped us to continue to meet the needs of Scotland's patients during these unprecedented times'.
