Changes to Aberdeen Donor Centre opening hours

Share

From August 2016, Aberdeen Donor Centre opening hours have changed.

After reviewing the times and places for donors to give blood and platelets, Aberdeen Donor Centre will be open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It will now be closed on Monday. Each year we must welcome 19,600 donors in the North-East of Scotland, which works out at around 360 donors each week. To meet the needs of patients, we collect blood from across 55 communities, schools and workplaces in the Aberdeen area. These opportunities to donate are planned very carefully to keep blood supplies at safe levels, and while considering feedback from donors in the area.

Our centre will still be open four days a week and we hope that the range of opening times, covering mornings, afternoons and evenings, will be suitable for your future appointments.

Our community sessions do operate at different times to our donor centre and, if you have difficulty reaching the centre, you may be able to find a more suitable time or location. Simply put your town or postcode into the 'where to give blood' searchbox on the upper right of this page - this will bring up a list of the nearest sessions in your area.

  • Make an appointment to give blood at Aberdeen Blood Donor Centre by calling 0345 90 90 999.
