Ian has suffered cancer for the last eight years and first received chemotherapy in 1997 followed by a bone marrow transplant. Five years later he developed leukaemia and had a further unrelated bone marrow transplant shortly after that.
During the course of his illness Ian has received several hundred units of blood and blood products. Now 30 years old, he has been in remission for three years and is studying Sports Science at Nautical College. Return to case studies >> |
