Blood Donor 24

Our emergency response team

Blood Donor 24 is a team of emergency response donors who pledge to respond within 24 hours, should the need for their blood group arise.

Lower levels of one particular blood group can occur as a result of a major incident or emergency situation, or, even because of lower attendances over a Bank Holiday weekend.

Blood Donor 24 allows SNBTS to continue to meet hospital demand when faced with this type of situation.

If a specific blood group is required urgently, eligible Blood Donor 24 members will receive a call from SNBTS asking them to donate within 24 hours.  

If you would like to join Blood Donor 24, please ask about it the next time you are donating at Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness Donor Centre.

We will then register you and you will be placed on standby for emergency alert should there be a sudden need for your blood group.
