Testing your donation

Whenever you make a donation, we take small samples of your blood to test in our laboratory.

Each donation is tested for the following:

• Your blood group
• HIV/AIDS
• Hepatitis B
• Hepatitis C
• HTLV - a virus carried in the blood
• Syphilis - a sexually transmitted disease

We carry out thousands of tests every day and it's very rare for anyone to test positive for infectious diseases.

If there are any concerns with the results of your tests we will contact you to discuss.
